Who am I kidding?
…who are WE kidding? We’re so messed up. We’re fighting these battles on our own because of the shame, the pain, the tears we’re not allowed to cry.
Oh, laugh it all away.
LOVE SHOULD BE LOUDER THAN ALL THE LIES WE’VE BEEN BELIEVING.
These are every bad thing, every single moment I couldn’t stand, every grade, voice, reflection that told me I wasn’t good enough. It’s my voice that was the loudest.
These are the marks hidden by a smile, by the loudest laughter, by the long sleeves and the dry eyes that have lent their tears to a crying arm, a crying heart, a crying blade that drips tears of iron.
IT’S THE SCREAMING THAT YOU DON’T HEAR.
It’s the voice you don’t listen to. It’s the child of whom you thought they had it all together, that everything was fine, that it would only be a one-time thing.
FIGHT FOR ONE DAY LONGER.
This is the fight that goes on for every single moment of our lives. It’s the one that we’ve been fighting on our own because no one else will stand by us. It’s the loneliest, the bloodiest, the hardest. It’s the most painful, even if we do it because of that.
We’re not alone. You’re not alone. Don’t ever give up the fight. Don’t let the scars define who you are.
